The region is also famous for its high altitude lakes, one being the stunning Rani Sui Lake. Also known as the Saurkundi trek, the lake lies in between the route to Bara Bhangal and Kalihani Pass and above the beautiful town of Manali. Rani Sui Lake is at an elevation of 11,154 ft. It is one of the very few high-altitude treks in the valley of Kullu. Many pretty wildflowers bloom on the vast pastures and surround the lake, making it appear no less than a paradise. It is a lesser-known trek of the region.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Manali ( 6,398 Ft )

  • Forenoon: Acclimatization trek to jogni waterfall.
  • Afternoon: Activities/ Team building games etc. The day ends with the bonfire after dinner.

Day 2: MANALI -> LAMADUGH (3018 Mts.) 4/5 Hrs

  • The trek Start from Hadimba devi temple.
  • The first day of the trek leads through the forests of giant Cedar, Pine and Oak.
  • The trail ascends gently at first, through the Manalsu valley along the Manalsu stream.
  • Extensive views of Kullu valley appear and slowly fade into the distant, as the first campsite in the lush green meadows of Lamadugh is reached after a steep ascent.
  • Beautiful views of the surrounding peaks dominate the scene.

Day 03: LAMADUGH -> KHANPARI TIBBA (3990 Mts) -> RANI SUI LAKE (3900 Mts.) 5/6 Hrs

  • The trek is through a steep ridge below the Khanpari Tibba (13100 feet).
  • From this point one can have magnificent glimpse of Manali, situated on the left bank of river Beas, and the whole upper Kullu valley, which appears swathed in the different colors of the season.
  • The lake at Rani Sui is a small mountain tarn with a 360 degree view of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges.
  • The campsite is on a beautiful pasture before the lake.

Day 04: RANI SUI -> SHANGCHAR (2896 Mts.) 4/5 Hrs

  • Today it is a steady descent through green meadows over the scenic ridges.
  • The path continues through a steep descent which leads you to Shangchar.
  • Overnight at camp at ShangChar.

Day 05: SHANGCHAR -> 17 MILES -> MANALI (2050 Mts.) 4/ 5Hrs

  • Descend down to the road head, from where you will be directly transferred to Manali by cabs.
  • Programme concludes.
